After this afternoon, I owe Gina way more than just some gas money. Not only, did she stop at the mini-mart so I could pick up a pregnancy test but she also went in and bought it -- well two, actually. Of course, that was after I embarrassingly broke down crying at the thought of someone telling Shane about it. I didn't even realize how emotional I was feeling until I broke down and spilled everything to her.

And the funny thing is, the two of us aren't really even that close. I mean, we work together and she's given me rides before but we've never had a deep conversation or hung out or anything. It's interesting because we're from the same side of town and we even kind of look alike, but I wouldn't exactly call us friends.

I'm actually closer to Alena, who's "new" in town — if four years counts as new — and she doesn't even know I might be pregnant. Of course she knows that I'm with Shane and we've been sleeping together, but I haven't told her that we haven't been using any sort of protection.

Not even once.

I have a feeling she'd slap me upside the head if I told her, then go off on Shane and land herself a couple of nights in lockup. No, I definitely don't want that, so I'm choosing to avoid telling her until there is absolutely something to tell.

Although, I have a feeling that if there isn't something to tell today, there might be soon considering how often Shane and I do it. And I'm pretty sure it will raise red flags if I try to convince him to wear a condom. I would take the pill but even with government assistance, it's still expensive. And with all the bills from my grandma's house that I live in, my budget is super tight.

I feel so angry with myself, but how could I have foreseen this? It's not something I've ever had to worry about before. Yeah, I had a couple of boyfriends in high school, but none of them were ever serious enough for me to even consider having sex with them.

But Shane, he's like a tornado that just blew into my life. I never anticipated meeting him, let alone falling for him and giving him my virginity. And now all I want is for him to make love to me and tell me everything is going to be alright.

"Damn, baby, your ass better be lucky your taken or else I might think you’re trying to give every man in here a show."

I feel his hands on my ass as I lean over and pick up the leftover napkins some customers left in the booth. I wiggle back and forth, smiling when my actions pull a deep growl from him. I look over my shoulder at him, and my breath hitches at the look of hunger in Shane's eyes.

"Time for you break?"

The question comes out low and deep.

"Yeah, I just have to finish cleaning this booth first.
